DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE METALS IN YOUR HAIR?
05 Mar, 2021
It’s common to have frizzy hair when you’re living in one of the tropical countries in Southeast Asia. In fact, the dry and wet weather all year round makes it difficult to have soft, silky hair. Even if you use anti-frizz products, nothing seems to work. At Kimage, we know the struggle of needing to tame your frizzy hair when you have to attend an important interview or meet potential clients. Almost everyone has experienced such a moment throughout their lifetime. If you find yourself looking for ways to reduce frizz in your hair more often than you think, your first step is to understand what’s causing the frizz so that you can take proper actions. Before that, it’s important to understand what is considered as frizzy hair.

After hours of staying put, waiting for your Kimage hairstylist to apply the hair dye, you’re finally a changed person! While it’s a thrilling experience to get your hair dyed, you’d want your new hair colour to last as long as possible to get your money’s worth. Imagine spending a portion of your monthly salary on getting your hair coloured professionally, only for it to last for a short period of time. You’ll be upset when that happens. Besides, you don’t get to dye your hair often as the chemicals in the hair dye will damage your hair. Some Singaporeans prefer to get their hair coloured to suit a certain occasion or important event that involves socialising like Chinese New Year or weddings. When you socialise with a group of people, the first thing that you’ll notice is their appearance which also works as a conversation starter. Take Chinese New Year as an example. The colour red is very significant with the festival, allowing most but not all Chinese to dye their hair in different shades of red. However, the red hair dye is known for not sticking around for long due to its molecular size. At most, it’ll last for about 6 weeks before fading faster than you had expected. Fun fact: The molecular size of red hair dye is larger than other hair colour, which explains the hair’s inability to absorb the colour.
