What is the NTUC Surrogate Employer Programme (NTUC-SEP)?
The NTUC-SEP is a programme to help union members who take their own responsibility to upgrade their skills without the support of their employers.
By acting as a Surrogate Employer, NTUC assists employed union members to secure training assistance from the Skills Development Fund (SDF).
Who qualify for NTUC-SEP?
- Be Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident;
- Be gainfully employed in the hairdressing or related industry;
- Have at least 6 months of continuous paid-up union membership as at course start date (3 months union membership for low wage workers);
- Maintain union membership throughout the entire duration of the course;
- Be not more than 65 years of age as at course start date; and
- Achieved 75% attendance and sat for all prescribed examinations.
What are the Funding Assistances for NTUC-SEP Supported Trainees?
Trainees who are 40 years old and above with education level of GCE A-Levels & below would be eligible for funding of 90% of the course fee .
Trainees who are below 40 years of age would be eligible for funding of 80% of the course fee .
